My Trip to Jamaica

In the beginning of March, I took a holiday. I’ve been so restless this year and I needed to step away from everything and recuperate. I stepped into a plane and flew all the way to Jamaica. The culture is very similar to mine’s and it’s the cheapest trip I can take right now.   This was my first time in the Caribbean and I hadn’t really done any research about Jamaica before my trip but oh my, I had a great time. I arrived in Montego Bay, that’s on the west coast of Jamaica on Saturday and immediately got to exploring. I love Jamaica, I love it’s people, it’s beauty and how easy it is to relax down there. And yes, the no problem, mon! That whole attitude of everyone there just seems very familiar. The beaches were quiet and the sun loved my skin, which turned out to be quite nice. The days were hot and humid and on a couple afternoon, there was some rain. I was determined to hang out with as many locals as possible. I can never understand when people travel and stay in their hotel rooms the whole time. If you’re just gonna lock yourself up in some camp resort, why bother leaving your home state. Overall, it was a spectacular experience. Off to Florida for my Mommy’s birthday.

“I need to move around a bit. To shuffle my surroundings. To wake up in cities I don’t know my way around and have conversations in languages I cannot entirely comprehend. There is always this tremendous longing in my heart to be lost, to be far far away from all of this”
