Hello to all you jet-setters out there! I am about to start a whole month of traveling. So, I decided to share with you how I get ready for a day of long flights and my go-to travel style. Let’s get right into it.
"As we all know, a long flight dries out your skin. So, we want to go for a healthy, hydrating makeup."
MAKEUP
As we all know, a long flight dries out your skin. So, we want to go for a healthy, hydrating makeup. The only way to have a hydrating makeup is to lather your skincare. To fight the lack of fresh air on the plane, I lather my skincare. I do a full Korean 10-step routine. If you want to know the steps to that, I wrote an article about that here. If you want to keep it short, do make sure you use a nourishing moisturizer like the summer Friday's CC serum, followed by the Kiehl's midnight recovery oil. Now, that your skincare has sunk in, we are ready for a bronzy, glowy makeup.
We also want to keep the makeup as simple as possible. I always go for a bronzy look. I usually aim for a minimal, classic makeup look that makes me look refreshed and awake. I love to use my Nars Natural radiant foundation for a base because it’s so light, it almost looks and feels like skin. To make sure your foundation doesn’t slide away during your long flight, let’s set it using the Laura Mercier translucent powder. I simply cover my blemishes by applying my cover FX concealer with a Q-tip. I finish it off by using a bronzer as a contour. I also, simply dust the same bronzer on my eyelids. A nude bronzy eyeshadow makes you look refreshed and awake.
I personally stay away from a full smoky eye or anything heavy on the eyes, though you certainly could if that’s your thing. However, it’ll most likely make your eyes look quite heavy after a long flight.
A simple pink blush and mascara and voila, you are good to go. I finish it off with a nude matte lipstick from Too Faced. Set the whole face with a setting spray to set your beautiful bronzy look. There’s something enviably cool about a woman who steps off the plane looking naturally fresh and polished.
"Since the airport and the plane are so unpredictable, layering is essential. You never know if it’s going to be cold, warm or hot. A comfortable sweater is key."
OUTFIT
Let’s use the airport as our runway with our fabulous airport outfit. Since the airport and the plane are so unpredictable, layering is essential. You never know if it’s going to be cold, warm or hot. A comfortable sweater is key. This one is from NSF Clothing. I am wearing a thermal sweater from Target underneath. I finished it off with grey sweatpants for ultimate comfortability also by NSF clothing. I have tried so hard to give up on wearing heels to the airport because it is just so impractical but I just can’t help myself.
I finished the look with Taylor Thomas LA leopard pumps. They are so stylish and somewhat comfortable.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Also, don’t forget to bring your travel pillow, eye mask, and earplugs for an even more comfortable flight. As always, thank you so much for reading! See you next Friday.
