Let’s go back in time, shall we?

As we are all settling into the New Normal, none of us can predict what the future holds. However, one thing we can always predict is fashion. We ALL know, fashion is cyclical. 2022 is definitely going to be the year of old fashion trends reemerging. From Y2K fashion to the '90s baggy clothes trend. Remember that you are under no obligation to follow trends. Your style is unique to you. Trends come and go, style is forever. With that said, let’s get into it:

Platforms
Nothing says “show-stopper” like platform shoes. We are seeing it all over street-style from celebrities to influencers & TikTok stars. Platform shoes are back and are elevating us to new heights all through 2022.

Low-Rise
Like every other millennial, I am terrified of the resurgence of low-rise. Unfortunately for me and my belly, low-rise is cool again. This is one trend I’ll be passing on. However, if you are keen on trying it, here is an example of how to style them from Emily Ratajkowski.

Sparkling Silver
Every year there is always one color that dominates. This year it's sparkling silver. This color dominated in the 80s. This is a trend that I’m certainly on board with. We saw it on the runway all fashion week long, from Caroline Herrera to Tom Ford. Very retro-chic!

Fringe
What an optimistic and fitting trend after two years of complete stagnation. This trend has been around since the 1920s. This trend can easily be elevated and made more efficient from fringe boots to fringe earrings and even fringe skirts.

Dresses Over Pants
Here is another trend that I am reluctant about. However, they were all over the runway this past fashion week, and it seems they are back with a vengeance, although a bit sleeker & more refined.
This article was a real eye‑opener for me! It was so fun to see how 2022 fashion mixes bold colours, retro vibes, and comfort without compromise. What hit me most was the trend of standout buy window film accessories — it feels like they’re the secret to making any outfit feel unique and full of personality. I also loved that the article doesn’t just list trends, but gives real, wearable ideas so you don’t end up looking “too much” or “off‑trend.” It was an easy and enjoyable read, and it made me want to refresh my wardrobe with a bit more confidence and individuality. Style isn’t about rules — it’s about how you feel in what you wear!
